Trustee Lawrence R. "Larry" Labrado presents Santiago Canyon College (SCC) student Daryl Yambao with a recognition certificate as a recipient of the Rancho Santiago Community College Board of Trustees President’s Scholar Award. Daryl was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States in 2001.
The SCC-business administration/economics major has completed 20 units of honors classes with a 4.0 GPA in his first two semesters on campus. Daryl is an active member of the Rotaract Service Club where he participates in monthly service projects. He is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society.
The Villa Park High School-graduate has applied for fall 2009 admission to UCLA, Cal State Fullerton, and Chapman University. Daryl's ultimate career goal is to become a commercial airline pilot. However, accounting is his “back up” plan, where he can still work with the airline industry but in a more “grounded” fashion!
